Ranthambore Tiger Reserve - Best time to Visit

Ranthambore Tiger Reserve - Best time to Visit

The Ranthambore National Park opens up from October 1st to 30th June every year. October to April are the best months to visit Ranthambore and spot tigers. Summers are quite hot, however, chances of spotting tigers increase in the summers. Monsoons should be avoided as the park remains closed during theses months.

(October-March) This is the best time to visit Ranthambore. The cool weather and blooming flowers add gloss to the trip. However, please carry heavy woollens if you plan to travel in the month of December or early January.

Summer (April-June) The onset of summers and the unbearable scorching sun leaves the summer months a less preferred time to visit Rajasthan. However, if you can bear with the rising mercury, the month of May is perfect for you to visit Ranthambore as this is the best time to spot tigers. Do not forget sunscreens, scarves and full-sleeve cotton outfits to avoid heat strokes.

Monsoon (July-September) The Ranthambore National Park remains closed during the monsoon months of July to September. Hence, these months are a no-no to visit the area during the rainy season.

  • Kachida Valley is a jeep ride away from the national park and would give you a chance to spot panthers.
